Same with phone calls (often ending with the caller not being answered). The text itself is coming through fine, but just not notifying me. Granted, my phone isn’t in the best condition (screen was cracked in the corners when I got it) but it had no effect on the sound until recently. They can’t hear me at all when not on speakerphone.
When talking on the phone, the only way the person on the other end can hear me is if I put the phone on speakerphone. About 2 weeks ago, the speaker on my phone stopped working. But when I got it, it wasn’t brand new (got it from a friend who didn’t need it anymore). Problem: I got my phone about 2 months ago. If after the factory reset the problem still persists then this issue could be caused by a hardware issue. Make sure to backup your phone data before performing this procedure. Solution: Try to check if the phone software is causing this problem by doing a factory reset. Upgraded to lollipop to see if it helped…nope! Help! Tried spraying in various positions unable to get results. The battery door broke off a while back, so thought maybe dust. I checked Samsung forums tried turning off bluetooth, tried rebooting, tried removing battery for a few minutes, took computer compressed air can and blew out headphone hole and charge portal….actually got results from the latter.
